Welcome

My name is Fiona. I use this space to explore the infinite psychic deaths we experience in our pursuit of living, loving and creating.

What are Death Blooms?

Death Blooming is the dramatic, final flowering event of a succulent plant, in which it rapidly sprouts a large flower spike, generates seeds that will produce new succulents, and then dies. For a healthy plant, this process occurs when it has reached full maturity.

The spikes themselves are called Death Blooms.

I believe that we humans go through a similar death and rebirth process throughout our lives. Growing from an uninitiated seed into full maturity, then moving from maturity into a death process that contains within it the seeds of new life and a new initiation.

Life asks us to do this continually, whether we like it or not, until our physical bodies give out.

But change is hard, ugly work. It can feel easier to fight life’s creative destruction or deny its existence than to embrace it and create alongside it.

If you’re here, it might be because, on some level, you know that fighting your own transformation is no longer an option, and that saying yes to life means you will need to first say yes to many psychic deaths.

Thank you for being here, I hope you’ll stick around.
